Beam saws are used for the cutting of sheet materials with the principle of operation being that the material remains static and is secured with a pressure beam with the saw moving along on a carriage and cutting the sheet materials. There are two main types of beam saws: Front Loading is where the material is fed into the machine from the front and is then draw into the beam saw, and Rear Loading where the material is automatically loaded from stacks at the rear of the saw. Beam saws nowadays are computerised and often contain optimisation software to give the best yields from materials.
